POST FIGHT Spotlight: UFC’s own Yoel Romero

I recently got a chance to speak to one of the Middleweight divisions top ranked contenders in Yoel Romero. We went over his recovery, some of his interests, and what he thinks of his tough division.

What are some artists on your playlist?

I listen to a lot of Christian music.

What would you be doing without MMA in your life?

Probably help train others. I have been an athlete all my life and could see myself helping others train.

What is your favorite food that you have to stay away from during training?

Sweets! That is my weakness. Definitely stay away from rice also.

How is everything surrounding your recovery from the injury?

I feel good. Everything has gone well in this training camp.

What are your thoughts on the Jacare/ Camozzi fight result?

I give a lot of respect to Camozzi for stepping in especially on short notice. Jacare once again did his job.

What do you think about when you see how fast things have moved in the division? (In regards to Rockhold and Weidman speaking on a potential matchup/ Jacare moving a step closer to a title fight.)

I believe the Middleweight division is one of the best in the UFC. I think that there are several of us that could be competing for the title. Middleweight is a very tough division and everything is moving very fast.

Do you have anything to say to your Latin American fans who are rooting for a speedy recovery?

I would like to say God Bless and thank you to all the fans for their support.
